Market falls 245 points for the week, geopolitical tensions weigh

The dollar edged up 0.1 percent on the day to 109.17 yen , but was down 1.7 percent for the week. The dollar rose 0.6 percent against the South Korean won , which stood at 1,136.5. It last stood at 115.85 yen, up 0.1 percent. Market liquidity was thinner than usual because of this week's Passover and Good Friday holiday observances around the world. It was up 0.2 percent for the week, though concerns about the outcome of France's presidential election continued to limit its upside.

Finally, a dismal start in earning results, with IT index getting hammered after Infosys weak revenue outlook and plan to return cash to shareholders fell short of market expections. The sensex had gained 285.21 points or 0.97 percent on previous two weeks.
